On Augst 27, 2023, BZU team (LB) of Capitalization for Re-setting Innovation and Sustainability in Med-Cities (CARISMED) project, conducted a workshop in the city of Hebron titled “Establishing the Relationship between Craft Clusters in the Innovation Lab and Partner Institutions”. During the workshop, the results, and outcomes of the previous four training workshops were presented. These workshops were conducted by craftsmen as a preliminary step towards designing and establishing the Studio Lab.
Dr. Shadi Ghadban, the project director, distributed participation certificates to the craftsmen who participated in the workshops and training sessions related to this project.
The mechanism and operation system of the lab were presented based on the results of the fourth workshop. In conclusion, a discussion was opened with the partner institutions and craftsmen to establish a framework for memoranda of understanding between the stakeholders to ensure the success and provide the reasons for the success of the lab. Additionally, an agreement was reached on the required timeline for the implementation of the next steps.
BZU team (LB) organized Awareness and Training Activities for SMEs on LCARS of Abandoned Buildings for Creating CCI Innovation Lab in Hebron City. These trainings were implemented under the main topics of Networking & Clustering, Circular, Smart, Green, and Sustainable Practices, and Proximity & Spatial Re-use.
The training activities were aimed to raise awareness and provide training to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Hebron city about the concept of circular economy and the role of creative and cultural crafts in urban settings, to develop skills in using innovative methods and tools for capacity building in recycling, promoting innovative business models, and designing solutions that align with the principles of circular economy. As well as, to create a purposeful experimental creative workshop through adaptive low-cost reuse (LCARS) of a selected old building in Hebron city.
These workshops were conducted for four days, started from 23 July to 13 August 2023 at Al-Amm Saleh Hall in Hebron. The number of SMEs participated was 13 participants from various fields.
